 |
|
Fall is just around the corner here in Tennessee. My herbs are starting to slow down a tiny bit. I think I could force them to produce another full month, but honestly I don't need anymore and they are really working hard at trying to bloom.
I took what will be the last cutting of Marjoram yesterday and working on the Basil. I have allowed one Oregano bed to flower already and it is so beautiful and full of butterflies. Black Swallowtails that come from the
Parsley worm.
Lots of overtime has gone into getting the herbs dried and the blends
mixed and packaged for market. The response has just been awesome,
never in a million years did I think we would get this kind of response the first year into this project.
It has almost been too much, it's really hard to learn as you do and keep
up with such a demand. But...we are very grateful and our profit margin
is looking pretty good.......but remember we still have to have that greenhouse! Working on that , will let you know how it turns out.
The weather here is wonderful, coolish already at night. Had a very good and much needed rain yesterday and last night. We had a lot of wind too,
got up this morning and everything was moved around . No real damage.
We don't have any animals, just one little kitty and he knows how to find shelter, he lives outside and loves the barn.
I took time tonight and read everyone's postings, enjoyed them very much, you'll are very busy with so many different things, not sure I could keep up with growing so much.
We are adding to the menu next year so guess I will find out.
Have a super good week-end, til next time....
Be Well,
