Dolores Quieju, 82. My parents died when I was little. I went to work as a girl, tortillando. Also I spun cotton and wool for thread and wove textiles and clothing. The colors of the huipiles (traditional blouses) back then were white and brown. We did not have colors back then, like now. I had 9 children but 7 died, mostly of measles and whooping cough. This was in the 1950s. My husband worked other people's land. |
